Get at least two tokens out of the home base early. Waiting for a six while your opponent races ahead is the fastest way to lose. The more tokens you have on the board, the more options you have each turn.
Safe squares protect your tokens from being captured. When you are ahead, park a token on a safe square and focus on pushing a second one home. Do not ignore safe squares when your token is vulnerable near an aggressive opponent.
Capturing an opponent's token sends it back home and gives you a bonus roll on CTT777. If an opponent's token is one or two moves ahead of yours and they have no safe square available, that capture is almost always worth making.
